Seated sixth in from the left I recognise Rhys "Rico" Jones, teacher of Welsh at Ferndale Grammar - think he became a Captain in the platoon?

That figures seems a larger than life character - like part 5 here 6 years later

Who is the "Pike" character just behind him?

He lived in my street, Ffaldau Tce. number 12 if I remember.
