The above book was published at Xmas 2013 and tells of the explosion on January 27th 1896, which has somehow been overshadowed by similar events at Ferndale and Mardy. This book follows the sad events that shook a small mining village in the Rhondda Fach valley and the agony and despair caused by the death of 57 men and boys. For anyone interested in local history or might have had relatives killed in this explosion this is essential reading. A full list of all those killed or injured and witnesses who gave evidence at the inquest are included.
This book can be obtained at the Pontypridd Museum or from the author at garethharriscoal@yahoo.co.uk.
