Whilst most people on here are more Ferndale orientated, I thought I'd put a couple of snippets from the Centenary Booklet of the school:-

1. "An interesting historical event took place in 1885 when the school was closed for the Parliamentary Elections. The candidates were Mr F. L. Davies (grandson of David Davis the owners of the pits) and Mr William Abraham (Mabon). The result was: William Abraham (Mabon) Lib-Lab......3859
F.L. Davis Lib.............................2992

Mabon became the first Liberal M.P. for the Rhondda!

2. In the Log for September 1913 are the following:-

"Mrs J. Thomas took Class 3 to Ffaldau Farm to observe the cow"
"Miss J. Bull absent, having teeth extracted".
