Maerdy Coal mine.

Two questions .Is the story true that when the last Maerdy pit closed that all the records were left down the pit when it was sealed off .Also my grandfather Howell Davies died in 1914, is there anyway I can find out which mine he worked in. Eirwen.

My initial thought is that you try to contact Alun Clement who is trying to establish history of Ferndale etc, I'm sure he will know who may have such information.
