I'm tracing my wife's family on Ancestry and came along this forum page. Evan Edwards was my Wife's Great Uncle. He was born on Anglesey in 1889 and 'disappeared' under a cloud down South. Last heard of in Ferndale as the Mayor. He lived on Comercial Street in Blaenllechau. Married to Elizabeth. and had a son John. Has anyone any more details for me that I can use for the Family Tree? Have you got a Tree on Ancestry? I would be grateful of any information.

I lived in Commercial Street when Evan Edwards became the Mayor of the Rhondda, in the 50's. There is a community group in Blaenllechau who had the 1891 census sheets, as I looked at them many years ago. Whether they still have them is not known. Let me know if you want me to find out.

Evan Edwards died 23 Aug 1970 and is buried in Ferndale cemetery.

Are you in touch with Ann Bishop who is on this list ?

She is also related to Evan in some way.
