I knew the Taff St. property as station house, my aunt Edith Batten living just opposite (with Mrs Ellis running a shop in the front of her house.).
She would signal train drivers to wait if she could see me running down across the valley late for the Cardiff train.
I also knew Brenda Williams well who would always do the tango at Maerdy Hall with me if I was there rather than
with her future husband who had escorted her to the dance!!
