Can anyone tell me anything about W G Thomas, minister at the Trerhondda Chapel from at least 1940 to 1945? He presented to my mother a Welsh-English New Testament "on her acceptance as a full member" of the chapel, on 28 January 1940. Then on, 6 November 1945, he married my mother and father.

If nothing else, I'd like to find what the W and the G stood for, and a photo would be fantastic.

Well, that's a start. He was William Griffith Thomas according to this page:

This gentleman was still at Trerhondda Chapel in the 60's - my grandmother's older sister and her family were all regulars there. He was very well respected in the Ferndale Community.

W.G. as we used to call him often called in my mothers house for a cup of tea, his back door was opposite my mother front door. When we came to Canada in 1976 he was still there (I think) He married my husband and myself in 196

Thanks (to both of you), very interesting. Where would that be that he lived then?

Anyone know what sort of year he might have been born?

I'm sure he lived in Graig Terrace and he must have been born in the early 1900's I think. He always seemed old to me!

I can only remember him with white/grey hair but he had not gone bald, certainly wore glasses and always had a smile on his face. So if you add about 30 years to the photo, it could be Mr Thomas.
