I think the welshcoalmines link was given on the old Ferndale forum but thanks for reminding us about it. I had never looked at the forum part of the site before and there's a mine of information there. Alan, there might be someone there with more info re the 1867 explosion ?

I know the site (I've linked to it from the front page of
www.ferndale-wales.co.uk) but I'm not sure I realized it also had a forum. I have a look, ta very much.
