How would you find where someone was buried or cremated?

Postby Tonyjvu » Wed Dec 09, 2015 3:43 pm

I'm trying to trace a relative who died in a mining acident in 1914. I know the pit and where he was living in Trelaw. Which churches or chapels would cover that area? Any advice please.

Hopefully someone with local knowledge will let you know the likely names of the nearby chapels etc. Could you share the name, I'd be willing to see what's available on the UK ancestry web sites for you.

Hi. There is a ( huge one) Trealaw cemetery. You could try searching the records held at Glyntaff Crematorium Office. I've done my family tree and found them invaluable. They will do a free search for you. Also, local library in Treorchy keeps all burial records on disc and again, they were great to gain information on whose buried where. They also provide maps of the cemeteries.

Hope this helps.
