I was born in the front bedroom of 17, Fir Street on the 14th of August 1931.
My mother and father moved from my grandmother's house at number 17, and
lived at number 22 Fir Street in 1937, we moved to Bryngolue Cres, in 1950.
My memories of being brought up in Fir Street are still strong, I can recollect the
names of all the families who lived there in the late thirties.
There was a strong sense of togetherness, as you can imagine in that period,
where all the neighbours looked out for each other.as did the people of the side streets .
Pine, Elm , Oak and Church.
Fir was one of the friendliest Street's, and I have fond memories of it,
Dave Evans.
