Does anyone know the answers to the following:-
1. Where did the tram service run from - to?
2. Was there a railway bridge between Wattstown and Ynyshir which was a very sharp bend and I don't see a tram coping with that?
3. What happened in Porth - same problem?
4. Presumably there was only one tram operating up and down the vally at any one time?

Somewhere I've read about the introduction of the trams - I'll have to think of where!! But I do remember reading that the first trams up the valley only went as far as Ferndale and the Maerdy link came later. Every so often there were passing places - 2 sets of tracks - so more than one tram could operate at the same time. I think you can see some on one of the photos. Also, if they could get round the Strand/North Rd bend, I reckon they should have been able to cross those two bridges at Pontygwaith and Porth.

Just checked the photos and the 'Secondary schools and North Rd one shows a passing place.
