Another mystery Ferndale couple: who are they?

Here's another photo that came to me from my parents. This would also be about mid-1940s. Any idea who they might be? I've another photo of the girl in the photo, I'll see if I can find it.

Found it! I knew I had another photo of the woman mentioned in the previous post. Here it is and on the back is her name. She was Florrie Thomas. Does that ring bells for anyone?

I am almost sure the man in the photograph is the son of the Lawrence family ,
they lived at No 13, Fir Street, I cannot remember his name.
I was born on the opposite side of the street at No 17, in 1931.

Well, I think you're onto a winner there, according to the General Register Office, Florence M Thomas married Arthur J Lawrence in the first quarter of 1943, and in the Pontypridd registration district. Thanks very much for this information, I'm very pleased to know a little more. I shall obtain the marriage certificate.

... means she'd have been Florence Lawrence. Hopefully she went by the name Florrie.

A bit of a stab in the dark I admit, but the GRO shows three children with the surname Lawrence, and mother's maiden name Thomas, born in the mid-late 1940s, also in the Pontypridd registration disctrict. Do they ring any bells for anyone?

Well, I was born in 1946 and the name Michael Lawrence seems familiar so I may have come across him down the Lower School. He would have gone to North Road Infants so he may be on one of those school photos posted a good while ago. Somebody remind me where those photos are!!

Mochyn, probably not relevant in any way, but there was a Lawrence living in Wind Street Blaenllechau in 1890 and was the uncle of my grandfather Evan John Evans. My grandfather was brought up by this family and was known in Blaenllechau as 'Evan John Lawrence'. I shall have to dig out the information I have next week and put on here. From memory, the Lawrence in Blaenllechau came from Pembrey in Carmarthenshire.
