Yes interesting to see some youthful teachers! - Emrys Howells nowhere to be seen, was he promoted from another school?

Emrys Howells is there in the middle..................flanked by Jinnie Morris(History) and Mr Joshua..........who was next to Mr Malson, a brilliant and inspirational Maths teacher. It was Malson's last year before retirement and emigration. Famous sayings were
"See these poor fellows with Euclid before them
They'll never get over the PONS ASINORUM"....................The Asses Bridge...........Theorem 11 in the Geometry Textbook
Often referred to "Casting Pearls" when teaching finer points in Maths.
He lived in a flat above the Pawn Shop on the Strand........ Barnes O'Hare.

Guess that's Sidney Miles next to him and I see a youthful Craft and PE teacher (extreme right).

Of the male teachers, those I recognise that were there in 1957 are 'Tich' Jones (father of Tecwyn I believe and lived very close to the girl's entrance of the school), Mr Davies (Woodwork), Tall gentleman with glasses on the 3rd picture taught English with (apologies for this) nickname of bottleneck, and of course Mr Miles.
Of the ladies, from Emrys Howells, 4th - did she teach History?; 6th - Mrs Lewis (Bufton); 7th is that the French teacher - Williams?; 8th Cookery teacher?

The faces are all familiar, and I may be wrong bus the last in the line could well be the School Secretary who was there in 1957 and was one of those on our School Trip to Paris.

I don't know about you Brian but Miss Williams French scared the life out of me!! She became head of Porth Country didn't she?

Mary, you are so right, what a presence she had in the classroom? Kids of today wouldn't have coped with her, that is for sure.
